At the heart of our innovation is the SUNfarming Research & Innovation Center in Rathenow, a unique test facility where we continuously develop, refine and validate next-generation Agri-PV solutions. Here, we combine real agricultural practice with advanced engineering to ensure every concept we bring to market is proven, reliable and future-ready. The site operates on 2 hectares and consists of different technical Agri-PV concepts, which allow for both agricultural and horticultural use of the land.

Benefits of Agri-PV systems

  • Agri-PV uses existing agricultural land more efficiently by combining solar energy production with active farming. Crops or livestock continue to thrive beneath the elevated panels, maximizing land productivity without removing fields from agricultural use.

  • Elevated Agri-PV systems provide natural protection for crops and livestock by reducing heat stress, lowering evaporation, and shielding fields from hail, drought, and heavy rain. During extreme weather events, these structures can significantly minimize yield losses — and in some cases prevent them entirely.

  • Agri-PV offers farmers a valuable additional income stream by allowing solar energy production alongside traditional agriculture. This diversification strengthens long-term financial stability and reduces dependency on fluctuating crop yields.
