“women of new energies” (w.one) visited the SUNfarming Agri-PV research and development center in Rathenow near Berlin
The “women of new energies” (w.one) visited the company's own agri-PV research and development center in Rathenow near Berlin today for an information and networking event, at the invitation of CGE/SUNfarming Managing Director Edith Seemann.
Female entrepreneurs from all sectors of renewable energy exchanged ideas on solutions and cooperation approaches in the fields of wind, agri-solar, battery storage, as well as biogas and green hydrogen.
The unanimous opinion of all participants was that the current political and legal framework makes economically viable investments in large-scale projects virtually impossible. At the same time, all participants advocated for more intensive cross-sector collaboration and the leveraging of synergies. The participants identified specific obstacles to expansion primarily in the legislation—which has not yet been finalized but has already been leaked—being developed under the leadership of the BMWE, as well as in the planned regulations of the Federal Network Agency.
“Women are increasingly taking on leadership roles and founding innovative startups in the field of AI and IT solutions for renewable energy,” notes Edith Seemann, Managing Director and host of the w.one Day at SUNfarming. “Today, we agreed together to advocate even more strongly and actively for the reduction of bureaucracy and the removal of obstacles in outdated permitting procedures.
“Unfortunately, more than 20 years of constructive cooperation within the political framework have not led to an improvement in the legal situation or to the urgently needed and agreed-upon grid expansion. Now we need to speak plainly—and we women in the renewable energy sector are excellent communicators and networkers.”
The participants also agreed to hold a follow-up meeting at the SUNfarming booth at Intersolar in Munich in June and cordially invite additional partners to network there.
